A City Tradition in Laguna Niguel continued as the 2014 Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade took place.  It was a beautiful day as the Community came out yet again to see their City Council, Civic Leaders and Community Organizations who do so much for the City.     Thanks to the leadership of Commisioner Mulvaney and Mrs. Mulvaney, the Scouts featured prominently as Eagle Scout Gavin C. From Troop 772 had the honor to carry the City Flag and Girl Scouts carried the City Banner as the festivities ensued.

Onward to 2015....We here @ "Tiburon on the Web" congraulate all Tiburon Units who were able to join this day.

Count Down To Eagle : Thoughts From Our District Advancement Chair

Posted on Dec 18 2014 - 7:24am

Most Scout leaders know that a Scout is unable to “EARN” the Eagle rank after the 18th birthday. We also recognize that the BOR may be held after the 18th birthday; it is the “requirements” that must be completed before this important date. Realistically the “countdown” starts much earlier on the Trail-to-Eagle. A Scout needs 6 months as a Life Scout and 6 months as a Star Scout and 4 months as a First Class Scout. This is a minimum of 16 months of eligibility remaining from the date he became a First Class Scout to complete the Eagle Scout requirements in time.

In reality, it would be unusual for a Scout to advance from First Class to Eagle in 16 months. Not only would the Scout be highly challenged, but BORs would need to be planned on very specific timelines! In our District it seems the average time from First Class to Eagle is about 3.5 years….a rare few Eagles have gotten there in 16 months and other Eagles took more than 50 months. I think the trail has something in common with the game of golf, “it's not how you get there..it how you ARRIVE!"
