The LDS Church celebrates 100 Years w/the Boy Scouts: Please Join the Celebrations :-)

As you may know, the LDS Church is just over two weeks away from celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America.   

In order to celebrate, an event called “A Century of Honor” will be broadcast from Salt Lake City, Utah on Tuesday, October 29th from 6:00-7:30 to the Laguna Niguel Stake Center in Aliso Viejo. Following the broadcast there will be an Ice Cream Social for those in attendance.   

We would like to issue an open invitation to all of the scouts and leaders in our Council. The event is free (including the Ice Cream Social) and should be spectacular. The details (also shown on the attached flyer) are as follows:

  •  Date: Tuesday, October 29th
  • Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
  • Location: Laguna Niguel Stake Center (22851 Aliso Creek Road, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656)

Welcome to the latest edition of "Around the District"

Camporall 2013 is before us.    As noted by Mr. Pugh, the District Activites Chair,  the planning has been finalized for activities and all Unit leaders have received notification on the plans and activities at hand.      Some of the activites planned for the Webelos for Saturday October 19 includes:

    • Troop 700: Outdoorsman & Naturalist
    • Troop 734: Showman & Scientist
    • Troop 772: Readyman & 1 each of Communicator and Handyman
    • Troop 773: Readyman & Citizen
    • Troop 774: Geologist & Forestry
    • Troop 772: AX YARD
    • Troop 772: Marine Display(?)
    • Troop: 772: Horseshoes
    • Troop 772: Short-wave Radio Station
    • Fishing: Individual Option 
All units will continue to be informed throughout the week leading up to Camporall.      Furthermore, according to our District Executive, the Popcorn campaign has also been continuing and Units have been on the prowl throughout the District at Retail Outlets and continuing with their on-going individual selling efforts.   New Year planning is also continuing with on-going visits to Units and new prospects.    
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Roundtable on October 10.
